Tooth extraction is the most common operation in stomatology. Because tooth extraction is carried out in the environment with saliva and a large number of microorganisms, as in surgery, the care after tooth extraction should never be ignored. As a tooth extraction patient, to know some correct nursing after tooth extraction is not only conducive to the good healing of the wound, but also can prevent the occurrence of complications after tooth extraction.
1. The yarn ball should have vomited in half an hour
After tooth extraction, the doctor will place a gauze ball above the extraction socket to let the patient bite tightly to stop bleeding. Generally, patients without blood diseases can stop bleeding by biting the gauze ball tightly for half an hour in a quiet state.
Don't always lick the wound with your tongue
Good blood clot is an important condition for normal healing of tooth extraction wound and avoiding infection. When the gauze ball is spit out, the alveolus has stopped bleeding, and the blood clot has formed. But if washed by saliva or drinking water, the blood clot will decompose again, just like ice melting, eventually leading to blood clot shedding and rebleeding. Therefore, do not gargle and brush your teeth within 24 hours after tooth extraction, do not gargle hard when drinking water, and do not often lick the wound with your tongue.
3. Bleeding again after operation, remember to bite the gauze ball
Sometimes the gauze ball has stopped bleeding after vomiting, but after exercise, speaking, drinking water and so on, it causes the alveolar cavity bleeding again. At this time, the gauze ball can be placed on the top of the extraction socket to bite tightly and press to stop bleeding, which generally works. If you can't stop the blood, go to the hospital in time.
4. Pain and swelling after operation, with analgesics and cold compress
5. Don't be greedy, stay away from spicy hot food
Two hours after tooth extraction, you can eat liquid food, the first three days to liquid food, the purpose is to facilitate swallowing, so as not to damage the alveolar blood clots. Don't eat hot and spicy food, but eat cool food. Ice or cold drink in the mouth can help to stop bleeding. Rest as much as possible on the same day and the next day, avoid strenuous exercise, those with bleeding tendency, avoid lying flat, can be semi supine position, reduce the blood flow of the head and face. Pay attention to supplement nutrition, eat more food rich in protein and vitamins, and try not to smoke or drink within a week.
6. Brushing teeth and gargling are important and necessary
After tooth extraction, oral hygiene should be strengthened to avoid infection. Some patients do not dare to brush their teeth and gargle, resulting in poor oral hygiene and wound infection. As I said before, you can brush your teeth and gargle after 24 hours. Just pay attention to the gentle movement. After each meal, you can use mouthwash or light salt water to gargle, especially pay attention to clean up the food residue falling into the mandibular alveolar fossa in time.
7. If you have any discomfort, you should go back to see a doctor in time.
If there is no obvious discomfort after tooth extraction, no further visit can be made. If there are sutures, they can be removed at 5-7 days after operation, or at nearby hospitals. If the postoperative reaction is obvious, the temperature rises, the mouth is difficult, and the pain can not be relieved, the patient should be followed up in time. If there is severe pain in the extraction socket 3 days after the operation, the pain will radiate to the half of the head, and there is a putrefaction odor in the mouth, it may be dry socket, so we should return to the doctor in time.
8. The postoperative reaction is different for everyone
The postoperative reaction is temporary and generally does not cause serious discomfort. Everyone's situation is different, there is no comparability, so don't compare your feelings with other people's experiences. Treat the postoperative reaction scientifically and calmly, so as not to affect the normal life.
